In practicing all my creative passions, the term "coach" wasn't part of my vocabulary for the longest time. I had done it in the entertainment business as a director, as a development executive, as a mentor and a teacher... Even as a communications/marketing executive, leading clients.
But it wasn't until I married a brilliant woman who shifted my consciousness to see that I had always been a coach, that I embraced the art and responsibility of it.
Talent is important, but anyone with an ambition to fully utilize their gifts always recognizes the value of coaching - from sports to business, no one succeeds in the arena without benefit of the all seeing, external eye - the empowering vision only a coach can bring, to see deeply into the strengths and weaknesses of an individual in pursuit of a worthy goal.
I've had them - from school days to the highest echelons of Hollywood - and the consistent lesson in each setting was that, no matter how successful an artist became, they all had coaches in one form or another. The most intentional seekers of integrity in that ongoing relationship built the most sustainable careers.
I now have coaching clients
in all forms of writing (books, scripts, plays) and performing (acting, music, etc.)
If you would like to explore a coaching relationship in those fields or are interested in life or health coaching, please visit Creative Coaching.
